Variations:
Use curry powder or other herbs and spices to make different flavors of garbanzo beans.
Toss the garbanzo beans over salad or even soup for a fun texture.
Add lemon juice, zest, or vinegar for a fun flavor.
Use different flavored oils.
Put soy sauce on for a salty Asian flavor.
These crunchy snacks can also be baked in the air fryer. Check often so they don’t burn.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil.
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground sweet or smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon chilli powder blend
- 2 cans (1 can is 15 oz) of garbanzo beans drained, rinsed and patted dry with a tea towel.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350° F (175°C).
- Mix all the ingredients, except the garbanzo beans, in a bowl.
- Add the garbanzo beans until they are covered.
- Place onto a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they are in a single layer.
- Bake for 15 minutes and shake the tray to turn them over.
- Place back into the oven and bake for another 10 minutes.
- The garbanzo beans are done when golden and slightly darkened, dry and crispy on the outside, and soft in the middle. Keep an eye on them, so they don’t burn.
- They will stay crispy for 2 days if kept in an airtight container once cooled.
